The largest of the villages by a wide margin: more than 340 acres of river valley and coffee land in the hills above Atenas, half an hour from San José’s international airport. Its master plan, dated July 2026, sets out a terraced house community, a denser European style village and a hillside hotel.

Veritas Village – Atenas occupies more than 340 acres, about 138 hectares, in the hills around Atenas, a town in Costa Rica’s Central Valley west of San José. It is the largest site in the network by a wide margin, and the easiest to reach from outside the region: Juan Santamaría International Airport is roughly half an hour away, and the plan signposts San José on one side of the valley and the Pacific coast on the other.

The land is a river valley. Watercourses run the length of the property and the master plan marks natural waterfalls along them, with the housing set on the ground above. Around forty acres are an established coffee plantation, which the developer intends to keep in production and sell under the village’s own label. Atenas has a long local reputation for its climate, and that reputation is much of the reason the town has drawn foreign residents for decades.

The plan, dated July 2026, divides the valley into a terraced house community, a denser quarter it calls the European style village, and a hillside terrace hotel at the far end, with two gated entrances and house models between about 400 and 1,000 square feet. The developer has announced a first phase of roughly seventy homesites.

The programme is the most elaborate of the four villages. Alongside the welcome centre sits an equestrian zone, and the plan adds a hobby farm, a farmers’ market park, a restaurant and a viewpoint café, a workshop and a co-work lounge, a fitness centre with a pool, racquet courts and a small football pitch, a family park with a playground and ziplines, mountain bike trails, a disc golf course, a campsite, a yoga palapa, a pet hotel and a panoramic skywalk over the valley. Community orchards, gardens and park land are woven between the housing rather than pushed to the edges.
