In October 2021 the Free Private Cities Foundation organised its first Liberty in Our Lifetime Conference. 200 of our supporters came together in Müllheim, Switzerland to hear sixteen speakers, who inspired us with news from a range of fast-growing liberty projects. We heard about the development of the Honduran autonomous zones Próspera and Ciudad Morazán, community-led projects like Frenly Park, and new initiatives in the realm of seasteading. In case you missed them, you can watch Titus Gebel’s Keynote speech and Rahim Taghizadegan’s speech “Are Bitcoin Citadels Real?” on our YouTube channel.
After a year in which governments worldwide implemented draconian measures during the Covid-19 pandemic, it seems that our ‘social contract’ can be so easily changed by the governments, but we, the citizens, don’t have that right. Furthermore, Economic destruction by lockdowns, supply chain disruptions, never-ending monetary expansion and increasing inflation, cancel culture, restrictions on free speech, mass surveillance and the loss of basic human rights are leading to turmoil.
Is liberty within our lifetime possible or is a more surveilled and totalitarian world inevitable? Are alternative societies feasible, with greater freedom and a “live and let live” attitude? During the weekend, our prominent speakers discussed which alternatives we have for a freer future. Our attendees got an update on the first new societies in the making that are based on choice and voluntariness – furthermore the compatibility and potential of bitcoin in these societies were a part of our discussions.
The number of new projects and their fast development was inspiring. The dream for a better system has long stopped being only a dream – we are finally moving towards a society free of cohesion.
And because our inaugural Liberty in Our Lifetime conference was a great success; we have decided to hold our second conference in Prague this year! Join us this October for a three-day programme of networking events and talks by prominent thought leaders on the theme ‘Parallel Structures for Progress’.
If you’re a liberty-minded individual wanting to achieve greater sovereignty; a remote worker looking to move to an up-and-coming autonomous zone; or an investor interested in high-growth potential projects: this conference is for you.
