Vladimir Leshko

Vladimir Leshko is the chief operating officer of Unlimited Bio, a longevity-focused gene-therapy company operating from Próspera, the special economic zone in Honduras. A biomedical engineer, he works on running clinical trials of preventive and anti-ageing therapies under Próspera’s regulatory framework.

Unlimited Bio was founded in 2024 and states the aim of running a hundred clinical trials of preventive genetic therapies within ten years, using Próspera’s regulatory framework to compress approval times that would run for years elsewhere. Its first trial combines plasmid gene therapies aimed at two proteins, one involved in the growth of blood vessels and one that limits muscle growth, given to healthy people rather than to patients.

Leshko runs operations for that programme: trial logistics, laboratory and clinic capacity, and the paperwork a zone with its own medical regulator still requires. He came to biomedical engineering by an unusual route, having worked as an electrical engineer and as a professional poker player before retraining.

The company is one of the clearest tests of what a special jurisdiction is for. A zone that can responsibly approve research no ordinary regulator will allow has produced a difference visible in outcomes rather than in tax rates.
