Draper Startup House

Vikram Bharati is the founder of Draper Startup House, a global network of hubs supporting early-stage entrepreneurs, and a co-founder of Draper Nation. He previously led venture investments at REAPRA and began his career at J.P. Morgan.

Draper Startup House grew out of Tribe Theory, a chain of hostels he built for founders and digital nomads after noticing how much of a startup ecosystem is really just the right people staying in the same building. It now runs hubs in around a dozen countries, many of them in emerging markets where the local founder community was thin when it arrived.

Draper Nation extends the idea into governance. It is a venture lab experimenting with digital nations whose members subscribe to services, company formation, dispute resolution, insurance, legal jurisdiction and physical residency among them, and take only the ones they want instead of receiving a fixed bundle by accident of birth.

Based in Singapore, he came to this from finance. His argument is that people who already live and work across several countries have outgrown the assumption that one passport supplies everything, and that competing digital nations offering government as a service are the logical response.
