Lawrence Bahr

Lawrence Bahr (who speaks under the name Lando Rothbardian) is the CEO of ShopinBit, one of Europe’s largest Bitcoin stores, with hundreds of thousands of products that can be bought with bitcoin, from everyday items to electronics.

He started the shop in 2018 from Poland on the premise that sound money is only useful if you can spend it. ShopinBit is built around privacy as much as payment: customer accounts are optional, order data is deleted after thirty days, and the site runs without tracking scripts. Alongside bitcoin it accepts Monero and stablecoins, and swaps other coins through an exchange partner.

A concierge service sources goods the catalogue does not carry, and in 2025 it was extended into an app for ordering almost anything worldwide against crypto.

He speaks at Bitcoin conferences on merchant adoption, where his argument is a practical one for anyone building a new jurisdiction. A currency only becomes a currency once there is a circular economy around it, somewhere to earn it and somewhere to spend it. Until then it stays an asset that people hold rather than money that people use.
