Pavol Lupták

Pavol Lupták is a Slovak entrepreneur and self-described cryptoanarchist. He founded the freedom-focused residency and relocation service Liberation Travel, which helps people obtain second residencies and citizenships in jurisdictions such as Paraguay, Panama and Georgia, and earlier built the penetration-testing firm Nethemba and co-founded the Paralelná Polis hackerspaces.

He founded Nethemba in 2007 and built it into a well-known penetration-testing firm, later co-founded the bug-bounty platform Hacktrophy, and was among the founders of the Institute of Cryptoanarchy and of Paralelná Polis in Bratislava, sister project to the Prague hackerspace where the same idea took physical form: a building where people work, teach and trade using only cryptocurrency.

Liberation Travel applies the argument to individuals rather than to institutions. It advises people on where to relocate, which jurisdiction to be taxed in, and how to handle the paperwork that follows, with Paraguay, Panama and Georgia among the destinations it works with most.

His position, which he states without much hedging, is that a person can be substantially free today by distributing their life across several jurisdictions rather than one, and by using technology that asks nobody for permission. He writes and speaks on cryptoanarchy, parallel societies and what he calls global opportunism.
