Jan Mošovský is the Programs Manager at European Students for Liberty, Director for Research at Liberální institut (the oldest Czech liberal think tank) and an economic regulation analyst. He has been part of Students for Liberty since 2017, having previously led its Czech and Central European team.

He is also a PhD candidate at the Institute of Economic Studies at Charles University in Prague, where his research focuses on inequality and on monetary policy and its unintended consequences. He teaches econometrics, ethics and economics, and the history of economic thought.

He joined Students for Liberty after its 2017 conference in the Czech capital, ran its national and then its central European operation, and was named its leader of the year in 2021.

The Liberální institut, where he directs research, is the oldest Czech liberal think tank, founded as the country was leaving communism, which gives his work on monetary policy and inequality a particular local weight: what happens when a currency and a state are rebuilt at the same time is not a theoretical question there. He studied economics at Edinburgh before Prague.
