Doug Casey

Doug Casey is a world-renowned author and libertarian thinker. He wrote Crisis Investing (a #1 New York Times bestseller on investing during economic turmoil) as well as Totally Incorrect and Right on the Money. He has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV shows, from David Letterman to Charlie Rose, and been featured in Time, Forbes, People and the Washington Post.

He is the founder of Casey Research and a regular keynote speaker at FreedomFest, the world’s largest gathering of libertarians and like-minded thinkers.

He describes himself as an anarcho-capitalist, has lived in ten countries and visited more than a hundred and seventy-five, which is the practical form his argument takes: that a person should treat the world as a menu rather than a fate, and diversify citizenship, assets and residence the way an investor diversifies a portfolio.

He spends much of the year at La Estancia de Cafayate, a development he helped start in the wine country of northern Argentina, one of the older attempts at building a place for people who wanted out, and a direct ancestor of much of what the Free Cities movement now does.
