Alena Vranova is an entrepreneur, advisor and educator who has spent more than a decade building user-friendly tools for bitcoiners, including Trezor (the first Bitcoin hardware wallet) and Casa Node. She co-authored The Little Bitcoin Book and advises the Penguin Technology Campus in Paraguay, a project converting hydropower into education and software talent.
She was chief executive of SatoshiLabs for four years, the period in which Trezor went from a prototype to the product that established the hardware wallet as a category, and she later joined Casa as head of strategy, where she worked on the Casa Node and on ways of holding keys that do not depend on one person remembering one secret.
The Little Bitcoin Book, which she wrote with five co-authors, has been translated into more than twenty languages and is deliberately short: an explanation of why money is broken and what Bitcoin does about it, written for people with no interest in the technology.
She now advises projects that turn the argument into infrastructure, including the Penguin Technology Campus in Paraguay, and speaks on privacy, self-custody and what the next generation of tools has to get right.
