Tania Rak

Tania (Tetiana) Rak is a Ukrainian journalist and communications manager active in the liberty movement, with around eight years of experience across TV, radio, podcasts and print. She co-leads the Ladies of Liberty Alliance chapter in Poland, coordinates Students for Liberty in Ukraine, and edits at SpeakFreely.

She has worked with or contributed to outlets including the BBC, CNN, Radio Free Europe and TechCrunch, is a senior editor at Speak Freely, the European Students for Liberty journal, and launched Ukrainian Superwomen, a media project telling the stories of women in Ukraine.

Her work since 2022 has been shaped by the war. Communications for a liberty organisation in a country under invasion is a different job from the same role elsewhere: the audience is scattered, many volunteers are displaced, and the case for open markets and limited government has to be made alongside the case for national survival.

She is chief operating officer at We Are Innovation, a network arguing for permissionless problem-solving and innovation, and speaks at liberty conferences across Europe.
