Oscar Correa

Oscar Correa is the founder and CEO of Regen Tribe, a startup that develops and accelerates regenerative-community and “regenerative neighbourhood” land projects.

Regen Tribe works on three fronts at once: growing a global network of people and neighbourhoods, building the tools and templates such projects need in order to plan, finance and govern themselves, and partnering with existing communities that have already broken ground. Its own model settlements are designed for about 150 residents each, small enough that decisions can still be taken face to face and services shared without a bureaucracy.

Correa came to the work through permaculture, including projects at Mother Tree, a regenerative community outside Tulum in Mexico, and through years of studying the problems that recur whenever people try to build an intentional community from scratch. He writes about “polyorganisation”, his term for co-ordinating a settlement through overlapping voluntary groups rather than a single hierarchy, and about the lessons the regenerative neighbourhood movement has learned the expensive way.
