Marc J. Victor

Marc J. Victor is a criminal defense attorney and the founder and managing partner of The Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm, which represents individuals in state and federal criminal matters in the United States, including major felony and civil rights cases. In 2021 he co-founded the Live and Let Live Movement, an ambassador network run through a 501(c)(3) public charity, to argue that the law should leave everyone free to live as they peacefully choose. He is the author of The Live and Let Live Philosophy: Two Principles for Freedom, Peace, and Prosperity, which names a legal principle against aggression and a moral principle obliging people to be good to each other, and applies the first of them to twenty five contested public questions.

He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1985 to 1992 as a sergeant and squad leader, and deployed to Saudi Arabia near the Kuwaiti border during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He took a bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University in 1992 and a Juris Doctor at Southwestern University School of Law in 1994, and was admitted in Arizona that year and in Hawaii in 2019. He founded his practice in 1997; it took the name The Attorneys For Freedom in 2004 as other attorneys joined it, and it limits its privately retained work to self defense cases. The Arizona Board of Legal Specialization certifies him as a criminal law specialist.

Victor has twice stood for the United States Senate in Arizona as the Libertarian candidate, taking 4.55 per cent of the vote in 2012 and running again in 2022, when he took part in the televised debate in October before withdrawing on 1 November and endorsing the Republican candidate. His firm says he has handled more than a thousand major felony matters, and his courtroom work has included the defense of Elizabeth Johnson in the case reported nationally as the Baby Gabriel case. He co-hosted the movement’s podcast The Peace Radicals with his firm partner Andrew Marcantel through a hundred and one episodes.
